Grants Distributed to 25 Non-Profits

The Aultman Foundation Distributes $126,000 in Grants to 25 Nonprofits

 

CANTON, Ohio (June 9, 2008) – The Aultman Foundation has announced 25 area nonprofit organizations will receive the organization’s second round of grant funding totaling $126,000 to help further the Aultman Foundation’s mission with their own services in Stark, Wayne, Holmes, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties.

 

The following organizations – whose services focus on health, education and human services for the underserved, especially the poor, elderly and children – are receiving grants for the specified amount:

  • Bolivar Fire Department, $5,000 for Fire Safety House education program

  • Canton Calvary Mission, $5,000 for healthy meals at Loaves and Fishes Café

  • Coming Together Stark County, $6,000 for a diversity training initiative

  • Community Services of Stark County, $6,000 for a school-based wellness initiative

  • CYC (Community Recreation Center), $5,000 for Learn to Swim summer program

  • Faith in Action of Central Stark County, Inc., $5,000 for a health, safety and wellness program for seniors

  • Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, $6,000 for Positive Futures program for teen girls

  • Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and E. Central Ohio, Inc., $4,500 for Assistance Dog Scholarship program

  • Guardian Support Services Inc., $3,500 for Volunteer Guardian program           

  • Hartville Migrant Council, $5,500 for coordination of a health care program

  • J. Babe Stearn Community Center, $13,000 to help establish a Canton Youth Football League

  • Lighthouse Visions, $4,100 for Gatekeeper Transitional Life Skills Training program

  • Multi-Development Services of Stark County, $3,500 for SNETII healthy programming events           

  • NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) of Tuscarawas County, $1,800 for Family-to-Family education programs

  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors, $3,000 for The Anchor Project for ex-offenders

  • Next Step Mentoring, $4,000 for Steps to Physical Fitness and Health program

  • Pathway Caring for Children, $4,000 for Preparing Foster Children for Life After Foster Care program

  • Personal & Family Counseling Services of Tuscarawas Valley, $1,300 for Older Adult Outreach program

  • Siffrin, Inc., $2,500 for a physical fitness program for persons with disabilities

  • Stark County Hunger Task Force, $11,000 for food programming assistance for children and seniors

  • Stark County Out of Poverty Partnership, Inc., $4,000 for Family Economic Success program

  • The Voyager Program, $7,500 for a teen violence prevention program

  • Urban League of Greater Stark County, $7,100 for Kid Fit Fitness program      

  • YMCA of Central Stark County, $4,000 for CPR/first aid training materials

  • YMCA of Western Stark County, $3,700 for Water Safety Education program
